Keep Chris England

Chris England knows what it means to serve.
Chris learned about the law and politics at an early age from his father, John England, who served as a Justice on the Alabama Supreme Court. The England family is a shining example of service and leadership to the Tuscaloosa community.
For twenty years, Chris has had an open door responding to and solving constituent concerns and questions. Chris is a Member of the Judiciary, Ethics, and Public Safety and Homeland Security Committees, and he is Vice-Chair of the Tuscaloosa County Legislative Delegation.

About Chris
Chris England was born and raised in Tuscaloosa and is a graduate of both Howard University and the University of Alabama School of Law. After graduating from Law School, he went to work for the Tuscaloosa County District Attorney’s office as an Assistant District Attorney. In 2004, he left the District Attorney’s Office to begin working in the Office of the City Attorney for the City of Tuscaloosa where he currently serves as an Associate City Attorney. His passion for public service was shaped by the example set by his father, former Alabama Supreme Court Justice John England.
Chris has dedicated his career to fighting for West Alabama families through public service, legal advocacy, and community leadership. He was first elected to represent Alabama House District 70 in 2006, a position he has held for the last twenty years. He also served as the chair of the Alabama Democratic Party from 2019 until 2022.
Chris and his wife, Shea, have three children.
